Regulations for the order and conditions of implementing the contest dedicated to the 190 th birthday anniversary of F.M. Dostoevsky

1. General regulations

1.1. Present Regulations define the order and conditions of holding and implementing the contest dedicated to the work of F.M. Dostoevsky (further referred to as the Contest).

1.2. The Contest is held within the scope of Dostoevsky. Siberia. XXI century project of Omsk State Literary Museum named in honour of F.M. Dostoevsky and is dedicated to the 190 th birthday anniversary of the great writer.

1.3. The principal goal of the Contest implementation is to provide support to creative and talented children and representatives of the studying youth, to familiarize the rising generation with the richness of ideological and artistic heritage of F.M. Dostoevsky.

2. Organizers and contestants

2.1. Organizer of the Contest is the state-financed cultural institution of the Omsk region Omsk State Literary Museum named in honour of F.M. Dostoevsky (further referred to as SFCI Dostoevsky Museum).

2.2. In order to assess the contest works formed is the competent jury composed of the organizers’ representatives as well as the representatives of philological science and education of Omsk.

2.3. Contestants are pupils of comprehensive schools, gymnasiums and lyceums (9 th to 11 th grade) as well as students of higher schools and colleges of Omsk and the Omsk region. Contestants are assessed in two age-specific categories:

Pupils — pupils of 9 th-11 th grades and vocational technical schools;

Students — students of higher schools and colleges.

3. Venue and dates for the Contest

3.1. The main events are held on the premises of SFCI Dostoevsky Museum at the address: 1 Dostoevsky Street.

3.2. The Contest is held from February 10 to December 1, 2011 in three stages.

4. Conditions and order of the Contest implementation

4.1. Stage one — February — April 2011 — contestants are given lectures, excursions, participate in the interactive excursion-game dedicated to the life and work of F.M. Dostoevsky as well as in the literary F.M. Dostoevsky and Siberia quiz.

At the end of the first stage results are assessed, winners of the literary quiz are named, contestants of the second stage are defined.

4.2. Stage two — May — October 2011 — contest of philological works of young researchers of the F.M. Dostoevsky’s work, presentation of compositions, essays, literary and linguistic researches for the consideration by the competent jury. Works are accepted in a printed and an electronic form (A4 format, not more than 10 pages) up to October 10, 2011.

4.3. Stage three — November 2011 — sizing up the Contest results, awarding the winners. The most active contestants and winners of the second stage of the Contest will be invited to the Second International Conference F.M Dostoevsky among changing epochs and generations.

4.4. To participate in the first stage of the Contest one should submit an application by the phone 24-29-65 or send in a letter at the address: info@litmuseum.ru .

4.5. To participate in the second stage of the Contest one should submit to SFCI Dostoevsky Museum an application form indicating surname, name, patronymic, date of birth, teacher’s surname, name, patronymic, name of the educational institution, contact phone number.

4.6. Materials for the participation in the contest are accepted in a printed and an electronic form at the address: 1 Dostoevsky Street, Omsk-99. Literary Museum named in honour of F.M. Dostoevsky, the organizing committee of the Contest. Tel.: 24-29-65.

5. Sizing up, awarding the participants and the winners of the Contest.

5.1. Winners of the Contest are awarded diplomas and prizes by the Jury. Number of laureates and winners is defined by the Jury.

5.2. The organizing committee awards diplomas, thank-you notes to pedagogical collectives, most active pedagogues (assessment criteria — number of museum events visited, number of participants).

5.3. By decision of the organizing committee additional awards to participants and pedagogues may be instituted.
